Hey Salt Lake City! 👋 This week’s featured local business is Flake Pie Co.


This adorable little pie shop is located down in South Jordan and it is definitely worth the drive!
They bake their pies, flakies (think homemade pop-tarts), and pots de cremes fresh every day with locally sourced ingredients 😍 they even make savory pies so it’s a one-stop shop for dinner and dessert!


We tried the “Greece is the Word” savory hand pie, but I didn’t get to take a picture because I ate it in about .2 seconds after several hours of climbing to work up my appetite 😝 it was kind of like spinach-artichoke dip in a flaky pie crust, it was really good! Could’ve used a little more salt for my taste, but would definitely get it again and I can’t wait to try the other flavors (they were all sold out 😞).


We only got 1 Flakie and it was the Coco-Caramel, think Samoa Girl Scout cookies. It was much better warmed up but probably my least favorite item that we tried. For me, the filling to crust ratio off, it needs more filling. I still ate it and enjoyed it and would give other flavors a shot!

Now onto the personal sized pies! We got the Cookie Dough-Re-Mi, Peanut Butter is My Jam, and Life’s a Peach. Shawn loves cookie dough, so he was pretty hyped for this one and it turned out to be our least favorite of the 3. I tried warming it up and it turned into cookie dough soup 😳, but even after chilling it back to a solid state we weren’t amazed.

However, he loooooooved the peach pie, and I really liked it as well. My only feedback would be that crumble topping is a bit too crunchy and it’s hard to cut through. This one would pair so well with a vanilla bean ice cream 😋
And last, but certainly not least, the peanut butter chocolate pie (does not actually contain jam). 🤤 It is RICH and one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my LIFE. I’m seriously thinking about getting like 20 of them and seeing how well they freeze lol 11/10, everyone who likes PB needs to get one right meow 😻
